To Mr. D'Amaro
Look, this is Bob's mess. Drop it and let the company take a hit. Vertical integration isn't legal. Imagine Multimedia took your comments on, and we built a model that will work. It was always intended to be cooperative, but the attitude from Disney's lawyers made us turn it into a proper one. We've got a basic charter now. Fox wants to leave over this, plus whatever other grievances they've stated to y'all. - When people die during a film, it's generally natural causes

'apologise'
No. I didn't break the law in any shape or form, and my comments were not intended to goad Mr. Mendes and Mr. Mescal into abducting my friends. Somehow, the part where my counterparts were given millions in upfront payments, while Sir Paul hasn't even been able to pay me for my screenplay, is being forgotten. People have every right to be aggrieved. My request is simple: ignore the studio people, and read the police reports. While this is tragic, the pattern of offending wa

Yeah, that's fine for general trivia, but not for revisionism. I'm putting my faith in Apple Corps and their archivists. For example, Apple Corps was originally formed with the Epsteins in 1967. They took it in a different direction after he died.

'why won't you tuck?'
The bulge isn't illegal. In my world, people aren't as offended by penises. Anyone who knows anything at all about penile health won't recommend tucking. It's fine for a two-hour show, but it causes real problems 24/7. I wear shapewear. There's no chance of it slipping out; part of threatening me involved alleging that I'd exposed myself to people (never happened). Pippa came up with that solution. Tones my arse nicely as well!

'level up via Disney'
Look, you're missing the point. I'm already in the top echelon. As a rhythm/improvising guitarist, I'm heading for GOAT territory. As a classical guitarist, I'm like a highly ranked tennis or golf player. As a pop and show singer, I'm like Mandy Patinkin or Paul. Levelling up to be a great opera singer isn't a goal of mine. - Despite all these plaudits, my songs and my compositions are still better. They're from some other place -- it's not heritage or technique, but the

To the streaming CEOs
The flaw in your business model is that it hinges almost entirely on legacy IP. That's fine: we're doing that as well. The difference is our business model. Yours is constant subscriber growth + attention economy. Ours is a cooperative that partners with large state-funded institutions. It's a counterculture archive that updates itself, not a corporate cash machine. We're only searching for enough profitability to fund the business. If we only reach 3 million paid subscrib

In defence of AI
Yes, I know nobody wants to hear it, and it's fun for people to point at my recent albums and say that they were done the old-fashioned way without autotune or quantising, but the truth is that all forms of computing were based on how we saw our brains. That probably goes all the way back to the abacus, but we'll start with Babbage. He sought to make a thinking machine. That sounds a lot like what AI is... Is Taylor getting married?
Probably not. She was surprised to find out that wedding plans are underway. This is most likely Disney's response to the verbal sparring match at the Toy Story 5 premiere, plus a desperate attempt to head off our plan to form a civil union so that Taylor can take control of her life - and her assets - back from her management. Civil unions in New Zealand don't require people to have lived together, and it's reasonably easy to dissolve one. My relationships are getting comp

'more live videos'
No. People like AMPP precisely because I'm limiting the parasocial connection. Black screens depersonalise my voice; combining that with my voice acting skills is a huge part of what made AMPP such a hit. People feel like it's advice, not a vanity project. AMPP encourages people to think for themselves. - Re: why won't I take the rap and say sorry to Disney? I'm not legally responsible. I'm not making a video until they admit that Sam Mendes and Paul Mescal held Paul McC

'vanity project ... Taylor sucks'
Look, a lot of pop stars are doing musicals these days. People in the feature film world should check out her music videos as a director. She's definitely got the skills, and it's not like she's putting in all the money. Warner Brothers-Discovery are quite keen on Baby Face. Why? It's using an old film of theirs and we all like those 1930's and 1940's movies. - Is it an homage or a pastiche or the Great Gatsby? Honestly, we don't know yet. It's obviously playing with fil

What inspired A Night To Remember?
Buffy and Angel, obviously, but also Stargate SG-1. Peter Walter said that the dude who acted Tilk slept with loads of women. Dean was based on Sam Neill. There wasn't any intentional Beatles commentary.

I'm not being investigated by the police. People are investigating my claims. Despite conservative gossip, I'm using my phone within the bounds of the law. I'm really sick of being trolled. It's a waste of all our money and effort. My breakthroughs are the result of working outside of academia. As a researcher, I'd rather do things my own way. AMPP's success validates my decision. It's hard to defend that massive "Next Steps On Your Doorstep" billboard near Parliament where you parodied one of my blog articles. Your attempts to buy and sell me like a commodity are unwelcome. My films are intended for a different audience, one that might subscribe to Imagine. My relationship with authenticity
Ted's new piece is quite interesting. When I was a young grad student, the whole thing in my circle is that music videos were so polished that it was hard to tell who could play. That's why most of my guitar and vocal performances are in one take. One shot, one take: that was authentic to us. The media took it and ran with it. When we were teenagers, New Zealand musicians mostly looked out to the world. That's shifting now, though, and that's a byproduct of The Dakumentary'
