'you're taking food out of our mouths'

Of all the incessant and irritating attitudes that I perceived from Wellington during the fervour for my Tina screenplay, this pissed me off the most.
For starters, how many of the people making those comments made more than the living wage last year? My guess is most, if not all.
You know who didn't? Me.

So, yeah, shut the fuck up, my privileged class 'allies' .. again, I wasn't involved in any way, shape or form with VUW's decision to cut Theatre and Music down to the bone, with the goal of removing them.
You guys backed the wrong horse, and personally insulted me. I didn't need to spend months screaming no every single day: you should have simply respected my IP rights.
Given how this saga played out, I want the Council and the uni to apologise.
I think that's fair.

Essentially, I'm not interested in financial arguments, and I'm not interested in ethical arguments either. There was no implied promise that there was going to be a series, and running an Ad for the screenplay doesn't count as such when I also ran ads for other scripts that I was developing.
There is no way to persuade me. Tina is dead in movie or stage form, but she's alive in book form. I've got a wealth of short film ideas, and I've got - wait for it - another feature that I've been developing for way longer than that Tina movie.
It's set in the near future ... I refuse to be Jo. I simply refuse and that's because we are now in my specialty area and I know what kind of singer that I want for that role.
I am not now, nor will I ever be, an actor. Only ever going to say no, and tell anyone that says I must act that they are shortchanging my 20+ years of music training because they'd rather ogle a trannie than have to work with one properly.

Stop second-guessing my ideas and simply start supporting my ideas.
I know you all think you're better-educated, but you're probably wrong when it comes to movies. If pro directors read my page, it's because my stuff is seriously good.
In fact, all you bloody Wellington shits are reading my page because my stories are good.
Because my info on drug law reform is good. Because my art is interesting, and so are my ideas on a broad range of issues.
So, instead of saying 'do it like this', how about 'I do things my way, and you can stop trying to steal my screenplay and start admitting you wish that you'd written it, and that Amanda is only willing to let you rip her off rather than to collaborate with people that routinely and constantly insult her intelligence'
That's all I think of my enemies: they've insulted my intelligence only to find out that I'm immovable regarding my IP rights.
Every creator should be as stubborn as me, particularly when people are giving you notes that show that they have no respect for you, and where my actual emotional needs were rejected as bad storytelling by people who have never had a relationship with me.

No Amanda as Tina, now or ever. That's my rule. That's my decision, and it is inviolable.
That's the simple, legal reality.
So is the other legal reality, which is that ALL of my songs are copyrighted material.
I am the sole copyright holder for the EP songs and subsequent musical songs, and that means that nobody can use them without my consent.
That consent is not forthcoming to 'integrate' into the Tina show. I get to say no, and that the songs are only for 2030 Shipwrecked.
Now stop calling me a bad citizen, support my short film ideas, and allow me to continue to criticise large institutions - those that run this town - for attempting to push me around.
I never said I wasn't going to make films; I just rejected an idea that the peanut gallery were way too invested in for people that never signed an option agreement.
I'm a professional writer; I had several other ideas then, and I have over a dozen now.
