working 9-to-5

I actually have no idea whether I could do a 9-t0-5 job: it's literally never come up. My first real job was working in the Warehouse Distribution Center in Rolleston, and that was a summer gig that ran from 7:30am-4pm. Then I worked at McDonalds (aka Maccas) for 18 months, mostly doing close shifts. Then came several years of low-paid freelance teaching, composing and filmmaking. Then Isentia was 5am-10am, and my RNZ shifts were mostly 8pm-5am.

The song began life as I Rely on You, then other people told me to change the title. I thought it was too pretentious, but eventually gave in. The imagery was South Island stuff, as I miss the frosts

 
 
 
Why all the major 7ths?

I did a lot of jazz charts in high school. I'd usually turn a tonic chord into a 6th or 7th. Turned a lot of dominant chords into 13ths. For some reason, I'm really keen on major 7ths and 9ths. - T

Implying that I'm unable to work is silly. It's easier to say that I'm too different for mainstream NZ, but that's a confluence of factors (incl. all that expensive classical education!).
