I dunno. Lots of intrusive thoughts, essentially, but in a creative context. Like, when I'm composing, I can often 'hear' the next step. It's not a hallucination, but it totally is an intrusive thought. Had a certain chord progression from Desert Music 1 that lived in my head for days. My thought process about the Codex felt incredibly similar, so it was worth exploring. It definitely put all that modern cognitive science into language that coders could follow. Today, I heard a certain gesture in Omar's song that felt like a motif. That 'roll' in the trumpet ... pasted it, then messed with it via retrograde and subtle adjustments that alter the flavour of the gesture ... that's really modern timbral/gestural cell composition.
