What did I prove?

That I'm a film buff and know how to pirate movies, I guess. There wasn't really a political point to my pirate station, outside of the general manifesto. That was me having fun! There's plenty of easily available streaming services in NZ: it's not Netflix or nothing. Aro Vision is apparently quite popular, and a friend told me that the Wellington City Libraries also have some streaming subscriptions that are free for card holders. Facebook, however, is like a broadcast medium in NZ. That's certainly how I felt. Everyone in the film industry is bemoaning the lack of shared experiences that streaming platforms offer, so this felt like a chance to give everyone an opportunity to watch some films that were challenging and unusual. I don't know quite why I did it: mostly because I'd always wanted to program a film festival or something like that, and the opportunity seemed to present itself. In terms of my own films, I haven't made inquiries about the Dakumentary since 2023, though the National Library certainly seemed keen to host it. Now that I've got the Wellington Stories trilogy into the right order, I'd be quite keen to set up some screenings of those alongside a road tour. Ideally, I'd be in Central Otago in peak summer to do Sultry. Haven't been to Fiordland, so that's on my list.

420 = smoke cannabis

It's a dig at the idea that my films promote drug use. Medical cannabis is legal in New Zealand: it was meant for users. I'm fine with being a global symbol for legalising cannabis and psychedelics.

To Mr. Barr, Mr. Fraser and Ms. Gardiner

No, you can't keep saying that I have to make Weeded Out. I intend to seek an injunction to shut you up. That's what will be going down in April and May. Or y'all could just give up today and save me
