I define success differently. Being the best is something, and that's been my goal re: music.


But I don't think a piece of paper makes a difference. The albums are what matters. -


If people love my songs, then I think I've done my job.


Whether they love me... well, as Sondheim said, you can lead people to the garden, but it's impossible to make everyone like you.


I'm not a happy person: I laugh, but I seldom smile. I'm a comedian -- of course I'm miserable half the time! 👍
