Honestly, it was pretty good. Though there were a few flubs, none of them got in the way. Extemporising on the score went very well for Hidden Emotions, but I could've done more improvising with jazz karaoke tracks. I also could've made it a full video like Stephen's Bluegrass video from 2020, but with only one camera - and a burning desire to prove my point that I had skills - it made sense to do a short set which wouldn't unduly stress me out. Bluntly, I was hoping for an audience, which would've stretched the thing out by about 10 or 15 minutes while giving proper explanations regarding the origins of the pieces. - Proves the point, though; I expect singers to project, and that's cos I can. If I hadn't been met with such rudeness, I might've considered singing professionally, but that desire pretty much evaporated after the hate campaign from the theatre kids and the conservatives that populate classical music. There's nothing left to prove as a guitarist, so that was more about expression. - It's not a warm, friendly experience. Playing for an empty room isn't ideal, but it definitely demonstrates all the skills that could've been part of the art music scene if they hadn't underestimated me and told me I was a freak. No thanks to those people, but I've already established my niche in NZ art music, and the video is something that Perfumed Garden fans can watch.
