More about the NZ School of Music

I'm pissed at the NZSM faculty for essentially blaming me when they were the ones afraid to give me information to fight the uni with, despite wanting my help.

Salina and Dave Lisik and others needed to open up the books so I could understand the actual problem. Exactly as Paddy did when Newshub was in a similar situation, I needed to know those figures to put up a good defence. Instead of bitching that I was being a bit OTT, you should've met me, provided the figures, and discussed the defence. Then y'all should've protested on a monthly basis! It takes several protests to build up steam, as my recent boycott of Tory Whanau and Wellington demonstrated. That literally took 6 or 8 months to pay off. -

My solution was still a good one: turn the NZSM into a purpose-built, independent institution like Toi Whakaari.

VUW couldn't shoulder the expense of the programmes re: theatre and music.

Well, they could've, but that would've reoriented their policy from making money to making people. Miramar Creative is prestigious, and supported by Park Road.

Despite my misgivings, the Town Hall project is happening, so they already had a new campus in the works. I'm sure the Government could find $30 million a year to run it.
