IP trolls

Now that we've got a smash hit, the trolls are digging in. It's like that bloody Silicon Valley episode... - First up, Sondheim let his apprentices write songs. Passion's different: MJ funded that one, plus he was an apprentice. Johanna was from a jam session that John Lennon and Victor Garber had. It's another Janey song: the Lennons were going to adopt her. - Second, the Second Rhapsody theme has a grace note in the first statement. The initial statement is different for several reasons; my flourish starts on a different note, which changes the intervallic skeleton. The chords and key are different too. Bluntly, you can't copyright a pattern of four quavers descending by three steps. I know that NY is hating having to admit that some fafa from Wellington is schooling them on what makes a good musical, but the Gershwin estate lost their challenge. Despite your attempts to use AI to retune it, the initial tune is distinct. - As for ILM: Lucas and his mates can't get their Beatles fake stuff to work. Why? I'm part of Peter's ML process. Apparently my tapes filled in some blanks. Thanks to Jane, I move like one. They got their hands on Parliament CCTV etc. Newsflash, Hollywood: Yoko nixed the Beatles films, and the people that tried to kill us and put Paul in Guantánamo can blame themselves. - As for your attempt to create note-for-note versions in A = 440hz to replace the masters: Steven Pasquale, Mitch Hurwitz, Himesh Patel... these aren't Beatles. Use Pasquale in Sunday in the Park with George, but he's not a pop star. There's a lot of tests that I passed in order to get the gig. I doubt those guys could have. Americans can't be Beatles: that's the official rule btw. A bunch of New Yorkers and Londoners would never understand the part of it that comes from being a bunch of guys from Liverpool. That's where Don and I have the edge over all the wannabes. Our proposed band was mostly a bunch of Kiwis.
