1964 NZ tour as a movie was my idea. Peter was too young to remember it and too involved in the big picture.

He was asking me to come up with something via the Anthology, though. I made the Palestine protest rally film in the same month, so Paul was keen to chat. -


Why did I remember it? I used to live in the St. George hotel for a month.

The Beatles are their claim to fame. I didn't know much, but it struck me as potentially interesting for Peter. - Why did I get to pitch? Because Peter and Fran are developing a musical with me. We started working together in 2021. It's mostly been smooth. Peter's old friends are dying off, so we're mates (the way one is with a billionaire). Shipwrecked on Islands is the idea. It's almost done. The powers-that-be hated that idea so much that it's taken ages.

Peter and Fran's daughter is a violinist. She was a first violin for Portrait of a Knight. We went to music school together, but I hardly know her.
