Amanda vs. pops concerts

I realise it's a weird contradiction: I'm only allowing concert performances of my Triptych, yet I'm refusing to do any type of musical medley or pops concert. Bluntly, Portrait of a Knight is only 40 minutes of music. That's not enough for the stage. These Words Are Meant For Someone is a song cycle. It's not intended for the stage. I'm open to any type of re-orchestration of the song cycle: I'm not codifying it. - Why won't you do a pops concert with the NZSO? Every pops concert is a show that doesn't get produced. I'd rather be Dot than do a Sondheim medley. I think they're trashy, they're boring, and a karaoke night is more fun.
