Justin, I'm not doing Tina. Tina cannot legally exist.
I'm not performing and Barbara has to accept that.
1. I don't need to level up. I'm a world-class show singer. Not to toot my own horn, but if ALW and Linklater both want me to go overseas and do stuff, then I'm world-class.
Even in New Zealand, I'm so good that they want me (despite hating me).
2. Not just am I a world-class show singer, I'm a world-class guitarist in a number of genres. Jazz, classical, and (now) acoustic rock.
3. And not just that, I'm a songwriter of some real repute, both in NZ and overseas.
What I need is a genuinely supportive, trans-tolerant environment where I get paid well for my skills. Paddy might be able to provide that.
Tory and Red Scare and VUW have consistently demonstrated that they can't.
I am on another level to Cass, and it pisses her off. Much like Salina's hurt that all the movie buffs dig me, and that Pan was a hit, despite not using any funky exotic instruments..
They're wealthy and sorted, they've won truckloads of awards, and they're wasting their time bullying a former peer who managed to win the respect of a huge number of people without half the institutional support. Like, I didn't win an Oscar, but the pro Hollywood types think I'm for real, and all the Kiwi pros were impressed when I proved sole credit in the face of Cass and Tory's bullshit.
