Church music

So, obviously several musicians in my family were/are involved in church music, and people from Pasifika backgrounds sometimes say that my music has that sound. I was just thinking of that scene in Ray where his girlfriend says that he's using gospel to sell pop records! So, yeah, to an extent These Words Are Meant For Someone represents me applying those kind of harmonies to serious, erotic texts. I'm not Christian or Jewish, but people say that the Song of Solomon is very erotic.
