Yeah, I was the first to say that. However, it did connect that dot between John Riddell and Paretai Te Huia Pihopa. It found a primary source that my uncle hadn't found... Perhaps I jumped the gun slightly while walking through town, but it turned out that nobody wanted to think a Pākehā had written it after hearing it. Which seems to have resulted in people dredging up the Ruby King papers in Auckland and finding evidence of Māoriness. Either way, everyone's happy. The iwi alignments totally legitimise my policies. - The Ngāti Mahuta Riddell connection is similar in terms of relation to the other three, which are Bailey ones: distant cousins.
