I'm sure some of you would have noted that the Not Man, Not Woman paper mentions this idea of non-binary people as mediators.
I find this whole thing of parsing new slang for the older generations - and old slang for the young generations - to be mostly irritating. Chloe has far more experience with that, while I much preferred it before I was a minor celebrity.

But yeah, I found this idea of trans people as translators captured my imagination when I was coming out. Sadly, translators aren't on the highest rung of society, so I think that there's a certain degree of smarminess about in-between people.
To be fair, we're a fairly conceited bunch ourselves, walking around talking about how we have mystical powers that make us special compared to the normies...

That's why I'm there, of course. I have no official power, but it's a powerful statement. 🏳️⚧️

In the abstract, I agree that we need something that is a powerful cultural statement for trans people, but my solution is a real documentary like the one that Ricardo screened in the Theaterette.
That reminded me of my real life, which is much more that vibe than my screenplay.
I've been talking about that documentary for yonks, so that'd be me putting my money where my mouth is. 📽️
