It's a dig at the idea that my films promote drug use. Medical cannabis is legal in New Zealand: it was meant for users. I'm fine with being a global symbol for legalising cannabis and psychedelics. - Working For Each Other is different to my other films. It's aware of the global audience, which wasn't true of the Palestine rally from December. - Since Suresh moved to Auckland, there have been several promising drug trials, so we're likely to legalise psychedelics through a medical-therapeutic regime. Like DMT: The Spirit Molecule, but for today. Personally, I think the experiments in that book are slightly suspect, as he wasn't able to fully control for set, setting and drug. - I've never taken uppers, but Paul reckons that benzedrine works for him. As a treatment for bipolar depression, it's reportedly better than MDMA.

Waves of migration

Given we're all buying into the founder effect to explain tūrehu and other aspects of my skin and hair, I think this opens up the door to discussing multiple waves of migration from Polynesia to Te Ri

Dennis McKenna told Gary that he'd come to New Zealand to give a talk about a decade ago. AMPP is keen to look at drug law reform as one of our main issues. As always, I prefer to do my own thing that's separate from the sanctioned version.

Now that the HRCA is in full swing, I can focus on psychedelic legalisation. In The Plaything, Alison is dosed with LSD, but that's a cautionary tale. It could have been anything: it doesn't take much to lower inhibitions. Overall, I'd love to buy DMT and LSD from a state supplier. Mushrooms too.
