Well, obviously they'd treat me as a guy in Polynesia, but probably as a third gender guy rather than a cis guy.

I actually don't mind when people who can grasp that distinction use 'he' -- that's a cultural thing, and I can usually tell when that's the case. Particularly if I was to do what I intend and go to the jams to pick up tunes. 🎸 - It's a very specifically Polynesian idea; I realise that there's lots of cool music in Micronesia and Melanesia, but the bulk of the NZ migrants are from Polynesia, and that's also the group who have adapted the guitar to their styles. 👋
