Is one of my obsessions as a writer, particularly in a pop lyric. The second person is underrated as a narrative mode. John and Paul were all about that in their Beatles lyrics. Wrote a high school story in second person that would make a neat Fable. Waiting to exhume my hard drives.

Revolution is the go-to example re: Beatles lyrics. It's that observer mode, but with the bonus of using the 'you' gestalt I'm referencing.

The Fable is a dream I had as a teenager about walking to Burnside, and then it got strange and surreal after the principal shot me a dirty look. He didn't like all the queers in the music department. Came from a rugby school.
