Why wouldn't I censor the Internet?

I'd say that the Christchurch Call is useful for social media platforms, but since then we've seen an explosion of right-wing social platforms that share similar content. Ultimately, it's not likely to eradicate stuff, but to create a better safety bubble. - Why am I so opposed? Grew up with my Dad hooking up broadband and fibre across NZ, and my oldest brother was pirating music and videos - and smoking dope - for as long as I can remember. Morpheus... who remembers that? - As a result, I've always loved getting my hands on illicit media, and most of my fears of being arrested until the weed kaupapa revolved around my 12TB media library. Those of you who are enjoying my AMPP pirate media channel are being hypocrites, as I've been posting disturbing, R18 content (including some of my original films) alongside all those friendly cartoons and documentaries. To me, age restrictions are meaningless tools that censor content. Some kids, like me, watched a bunch of R16/R18 content in our tweens and turned out fine. I'm hyperlexic and visual, plus I had parents that didn't shy away from hard convos. Which is why I'm a fan of Drew's Film Nerd 2.0. My Dad was similar, but he didn't really get involved until we were about 12 or 13: when we were old enough to watch art films, he got interested. That was his reaction to us renting stupid films based on the DVD box art.
