Why are bathrooms contentious?

Hot take: fear of difference, but mostly that the alt-right has obsessed over that topic for many years, and all that toxcicity has become memefied. Plus a lot of Kiwis take their cues from the US and the UK, where the bigots are winning. - I think that we're winning, but I think this one might be a sacrifice play. If we let them feel like they're safe as we pee in our unisex bathrooms, then we can win the bigger war and get the same rights as those fucks. That's the Gender Identity and Expression Bill, but also strongly campaigning for trans and gender-diverse people to be legally protected from hate speech. All those scandalous accusations that they make about us are perfectly legal, while if we were to say similar things about them, they'd probably begin some nuisance lawsuit to target us and discourage our activists. - Their fear-mongering is certainly working right now, but I doubt that Brian Tamaki is likely to be able to get the 3.5% of the population that he intends to mobilise. We're much smaller than that, obviously, but so is his real support base. Plus it's trendy to support trans issues in NZ. That's probably a positive from the Posey Parker protests. I think we could easily count on 5% of the population if we mobilised.

BLERTA - six-episode series Letter To Blanchy BLERTA is existential. It's all on badly degraded videotape. Letter to Blanchy is probably similar. Why is BLERTA important? It's the only real footage

Yes, but my justification is sound. In my mind, academic writing is just word shuffling. Believe me, I spent six months evaluating academic essays across the Commonwealth. It's already written by for

The obvious thing to argue for those that feel more strongly on this issue is that it'd be virtually impossible to enforce. I mean, it's not like the penis police can stand outside every bathroom. So, in essence, the legislation would weed out someone like me or other transfeminine people that aren't passing, but those who do pass would probably be relatively unencumbered. I'd also point out that unless they mention trans men in male bathrooms, then their argument is obviously and deliberately bigoted. Somehow, I doubt Ms. Unkovich has given them much thought in her plan to shame people like me... 🏳️‍⚧️⚧️

For those who aren't trans, the anti-trans debate has two main pillars: the first is this issue regarding safety in 'women's spaces', and the second is the hype/myth regarding transmasculine people and peer pressure.
