What is Weeded Out: the script about?

It's about two guys who flat together, a dope dealer and a musician, and their friends. What's it 'really' about? The Wellington that isn't a tourist trap, but mostly it's about drugs and the way in which people do drugs. Everything else is essentially just me opining on things that interest me, and using the characters in a Socratic/Platonic way. - The fact that it's incredibly gay reflects that Wellington is a very gay city. I'm sure that the same show in San Francisco would have similar themes. As for why $20,000 isn't good enough: that was before you challenged my IP rights. I'm not being cold-blooded: I won that war, and it took up several months of my life. $50,000 is still well within the bounds of a standard script scale. If the project is already going to be financed because Ainsley wants it badly enough, then the NZFC can actually buy it off me themselves and find a team to make it.

People need to look at it this way: they'll probably make similar amounts as the stars, director and producers as I'm asking for as the initial writer. $50,000 represents the years that I put into writing the script, and is enough money to finance years of better living for me, including the financial ability to travel.

Why don't I overdub everything?

Quality of the song alone and all that jazz... Yes, I can harmonise, but every hit song sounds essentially the same these days. It's like special sauce. The naked demos were distinctive. Again, it wa

You didn't pay me to write it. You didn't sign a contract with me to option it. That's the truth, and that's what counts. It's my IP, and it's fair to be remunerated now that people think they can make millions off it.
