Writing is the cheapest part of the process. With musicals, it's particularly important. Most Broadway shows take about 5 years from conception to full staging. A film is no different. A musical needs a complete score of at least forty minutes. Unlike writing a film score, it needs to be perfectly synchronised with good lyrics. Even my fastest scores take a full year to write. Working For Each Other is the exception. Paul dosed me with speed. - If everyone could do it, I wouldn't be the specialist that you're coming to. My philosophy is that it takes as long as it takes. It'll still only cost a small amount for a shoot that's only a few weeks long. Baby Face isn't going to break the bank. Taylor's people are attempting to exploit her. Being unable to meet her and work kanohi ki te kanohi isn't helping. Accept that I'm safe for Taylor to be around. Let her write with me in Wellington. Yes, I'm a radical left person, but my songs and movies are seriously good.

Taylor's blowing off commitments, but a man would be able to. She wants to do this piece and the shrinks reckon we're in the groove.
