No, I'm not interested in being in your films or directing them. You're the ones who are behind the game, while I'm way ahead. AI VFX of the type I've done for years are just entering your pipeline now. If you hadn't noticed, I'm attempting to get Wingnut and others to invest in an expensive NZ film that will use A-list Kiwi talent and make our lives into a Marvel movie. That's titled Shipwrecked on Islands, and is set in the near future. - I'm also insisting that my new opera be produced in Wellington or Auckland first. It's not just Jim and Peter that will define our future as a competitive cinema hub. One for them, one for you worked in a system where you could use a blockbuster to fund a mid-budget movie, but even those cost an arm and a leg now. It used to cost about $10-15 million to make a Coen brothers film. Now it would cost over $50 million. - I gave advice re: Merrily. If you paid me well, I'd give more advice. You're wealthier than Steve Barr, but he taught me what Disney really believes in. Extortion, manipulation, control. That's the Hollywood way of managing talent. Peter, Fran, Jim and Edgar have all been positive and hands-off. My visibility is not your excuse to avoid casting darker-skinned minorities, or to presume that my androgynous trans experience is the same as those who aren't as beautiful. If you gave me a few days with people, I could coach them on how to sing. Why are you going to pay me? Because you are still trying to emulate the smoothness of song and speech that we achieved in Portrait of a Knight.
