The truth

Here are the legally correct statements:

1. Amanda wrote every song and every script that is currently credited to her.

2. No tertiary institution or production company was willing to make a legitimate offer in order to acquire the licencing agreements to use that material. Amanda published multiple cease-and-desist letters telling them to stop blackmailing her, and is sick and tired of this debate.

3. Given that statement 1 is legally correct, Amanda is well within her rights to refuse to produce her autobiographical screenplay (aka Weeded Out). Any further attempts to persuade her to produce that material - until her book is finished - will be met with legal action. - Please stop harassing me. Please stop annoying me. I've said no, and I'm plainly able to say this because I proved that I can track the keystrokes on the script documents. You may have wanted to write a similar story, and you're more than welcome to do so. However, it can't have my songs or a character called Tina that is trans. Those elements are copyrighted material. Given that you lot probably read my drafting documents, you'd know that I used character sheets to build those characters, which means I can also sue you that if there are too many similar traits. VUW has to give up on Amanda returning for further study. I'm only ever going to refuse. The theatre dorks have to give up on me singing with them because of their transphobia. These things might make me feel safe and comfortable in Central Wellington again. The only way to make me feel safe is to give up on making a Tina film this summer because any attempts to do so will be met with (justfiable) legal action. You all miss me now that I'm gone, but you spent years snarking and belittling me and making false assumptions behind my back. Now, please re-read my cease-and-desist letters carefully, and actually follow them. If you continue to try and force me to be Tina, I will take immediate legal action. You've wasted 16 months of my life, but it ends now.

No, you can't keep saying that I have to make Weeded Out. I intend to seek an injunction to shut you up. That's what will be going down in April and May. Or y'all could just give up today and save me

Now, let's look at the costs of the Shipwrecked 2030 concept album that I'm keen to do versus the indie feature that you wish I would make. ChatGPT estimates that a proper radio play would cost between $55,000-$177,500. ChatGPT estimates that a Tina film might cost between $477,000 and $1.05 million. My short films would cost somewhere between $10,000-$100,000 each. Given that the professional industry doesn't trust me an inch, I think it's far more sensible to explore the cheaper options, rather than blackmailing me into making something to create jobs for people that are afraid VUW is going to fire them (because they are). I'd like to send my short film scripts to the Film Commission, and I'd like them to read those…

The album cost included using a real orchestra for Pan's Preludes. Synths, with a few spotlight instruments in certain passages, would be much cheaper. That's fairly common in film scoring.
