stop telling me to 'own it'

I've been out as trans for several years now. I had a job at RNZ where I presented as an out transfemme person, and I regularly attend Parliament while wearing a similar style. If you haven't seen me around, it's probably because we move in different circles. 🏳️‍⚧️ - I owned it perfectly well. It's not my fault society is uncomfortable with trans people and that's why it's hard for me to find a job.

To be fair, I wasn't much more successful as Michael. I'm unemployable, but I'd rather fight to ensure that I'm never stuck in the trannie ghetto. That's what you're really telling me: it doesn't matter that I've written a concerto, it doesn't matter that I've written two operas, or that I've composed some good film scores: it's only my body that they - the powers-that-be - want to exploit in order to seem woke.

That's a fair summation, and also why I wrote that cease and desist letter.
