And I guess I've always had a chip on my shoulder about the Film Commission. I came of age when Sir Peter published the inquiry I quoted, and also the Hobbit strikes. -


The tax rebates for foreign movies is something that really grinds my gears. Imagine if the Commission spent $300 million per year on NZ movies?


I realise it's economically necessary to offer some incentives for foreign movies, but it'd be great if some of the income generated was used to fund NZ films.

Perhaps via another tax? -

Not a theatre person. My idea of healing is going back to my roots, which is guitar. 🎸


That's why I hate actors: they keep thinking I'm one of them. I hate being on display, but begrudgingly do so IRL. That's the street theatre aspect of me...


But I'm not acting. no roles. no performances. If you try and force me, I'll back out. - Re: my music videos. I've enjoyed the abstract art and experimental animations. Dawn from Peter Grimes is a piece that I want to film. I transcribed it for guitar .. it's fairly straightforward (in drop D). Needs a high C on the 20th fret, though, which Amy doesn't have. I thought my brother's Bluegrass Society gig was well-filmed, like a comedy album, but personally I thought the Fantasia was my equivalent: I might screen that too. 🥝
