Screen vs. Stage.

Screen is more immersive. It just is, particularly with noise-cancelling headphones. A play cannot do what the Weed Tapes do, by design. It simply cannot put you in my shoes the way the POV shots do. It cannot make you feel complicit in the activism, which is what Dak Headroom does. 💜💚 - Film is the superior medium for activism, because I can be everywhere all at once. Plus I’m really doing IRL street theatre, which later becomes short films. I may be the poster muso for pot, but what that really means I want the rest of you to stand up and be as open as me, rather than whining when I do my FB show. - I mean, isn’t it enough that I wrote Pan’s Preludes and made some really good webisodes? If you socialised with me, then you’d get a real sense of who I am, and I’d rather people do that than try and act with me, because that’s all make-believe, and I’m not into that. Dak Headroom is the sort of stunt I do. Real life, real stakes: and we’ve done dozens of those .. Gary says you can’t call yourself an activist until you’ve done a solo protest, and I’ve done my fair share of those. - Shout-out to Avantdale Bowling Club for making pot a feature of their recent album. That felt great. 💚
