To the film industry

You all know Steve Barr blackmailed me, but you helped him escape a trial. The reason I'm readying myself for court is tens of thousands of dollars of lost income. VUW, Red Scare and Mr. Barr are the people responsible for this lost income. My expectation is that you will deny them income in a similar fashion. - I want to see some clear wording from the NZ Film Commission regarding IP. It must state that there have been a number of projects with uncertain provenance being speedily greenlit, and acknowledge the risk of allowing board members to greenlight certain films without going through the proper channels. They don't have to name projects, but Ainsley blabbed. I'm not going to pitch until I'm certain that I'm not going to be treated like crap. There is no path to production re: Weeded Out. Sorry. - No matter how famous I am, I'm still going to have to go through their process, but some slick prick can cosy up to a board member and make millions. This is patently unfair, and would've allowed Mr. Barr to enter production illegally.

It must state that the primary rights always go to the initial creator, regardless of any attempts to cloud the issue. The board projects should be subject to extra-stringent rules, not fewer rules. In any other line of business, this would be seen as a conflict of interest. The NZFC is not a film studio. We're not Hollywood, and there's room for NZ films that aren't craven calculations designed to feign liberal politics and sell cheap tickets.

I'm saying that I refuse to pitch the documentary unless you kill the Weeded Out plans. The documentary is not an excuse to discuss Weeded Out. The Dakumentary contains the Weeded Out IP, as does my book (Just Like Yesterday). This IP has not been licenced to any film production or theatre production company. It was not co-written with any group. It was a solo effort, and I can prove it with timestamps. I'd like your money, but I'm clarifying what has to happen before I even pitch. Admit partial fault. Accept that my criticisms are fair, and grounded in improper actions that the NZ Film Commission has taken regarding my IP since early 2023.

The first step to take is the pro film industry blacklisting Steve Barr. He can't work on projects. He's got to sit out a couple of years after this. He wasn't charged, but the evidence was plain as day. A producer who would blackmail a stubborn rights holder can't work professionally. If he can't take it, I'm sure there's Australians who haven't been bamboozled yet. - The next step is CNZ banning Red Scare from a year or two of funding rounds. I can't put them in jail, but you can ensure there are penalties in their real lives. - Then there's telling VUW to piss off and focus on academics, not films. Mr. Luxon can't save your skins: he can barely save his.
