All you had to do, VUW, was simply and reasonably pay me in 2023. That would've been a genuinely helpful gesture. That would have actually prepared me for a professional career as a writer. The number quoted was fair and reasonable, and cheaper than a scholarship. Same goes for the film producers and the theatre dorks. $20,000 wasn't the earth, and it definitely would've improved my life. I could've rented office space or a decent flat, which would've allowed me to write the next script.

Paddy, buy it off me if you want to produce it. I'm not saying it couldn't be done, I'm just saying that I don't want to make it because it's just not a good idea. It will retraumatise me, and every experience of attempting to be her resulted in bad things. Pressure to be Tina cost me my livelihood and most of my friends.

The film cannot legally exist. That is what Ant, the board member, is saying.

That is what Ainsley, the head of funding, is saying. The Film Commission wants to hear my other ideas, even though they're obviously not automatic guarantees, unlike that corrupt bullshit that some Wellingtonians pulled in a previous attempt at making Weeded Out.
