The period of silence for recently deceased former MP's was very moving, as was the waiata. Some very nice voices in our Parliament. Question Time itself was a snoozer today, plus I forgot my notebook. - Best moment: Rawiri's piece of showmanship when David Seymour started race-baiting .. he got out of his seat to grab a glass of water, then made a witty interjection. Seymour was talking about some play that got $107,000 from Creative NZ, and Waititi said 'it was a good play' between the questions. - National were very focused on contractors and consultants today .. all their questions revolved around that theme. Gary said they were trying to have their cake and eat it too by moaning about consultants while scheming to downsize the public service.
