Drinking a Valima beer. The four-pack was $18.99 at the Liquorland. My Deep Dream Generator subscription and health insurance were due this week, so I'm too broke to buy weed. - ... extended liquor hours for the Rugby World Cup? I think that's what Robbo was saying. That's a sign of our booze-drenched culture -- imagine if they'd legalised weed and psychedelics. 👍 - 1. Willis vs. Robertson 'income tax relief' - give me a break. I think our tax rates are fairly low compared to the socialist paradises in Scandinavia that many cultured Kiwis wish we were like. 'weaponised the public service' -- that's an evocative turn of phrase by Nicola. - 2. Lorck to Robertson - Cyclone recovery. Voluntary buyouts for level 3 residential properties .. that'll be expensive. - 3. Bishop vs. Woods I find it hard to swallow Labour re: housing. I think the real problem is the lack of building materials due to Covid. When my Mum was young, people could capitalise their benefit to pay the deposit on houses that were genuinely affordable for a single mum. While I'm stuck in a boarding house... 🤣 I wish I lived in state housing -- the rent is amazingly low compared to private landlords. - 4. Walters to Andersen ... 'fighting organised crime' = targeting medical cannabis growers. 🧠 $94 million targeting us and the gangs... wtf? - 5. Woodhouse vs. Edmonds National barking about the consultants and contractors again... Isn't productivity finite? All the greenies are chatting 'circular economy' Good job by Rurawhe calling out the Labour supplementaries. 👍 - 6. Lubeck to Verrall 14,250 community nurses eligible for an 8% pay rise from July 2023. - 7. ACT question - about trusts. So yeah, I haven't made money from my trust. I dunno about the taxes.. a law firm takes care of all that. I'm falling asleep. - 8. Peke-Mason to Henare Soft question -- reading from his speech. Plugging Whānau Ora. - 9. Stuart Smith vs. Megan Woods Silly question about the 5-minute showers. My tip: shower once or twice a week, then one can have a 20-minute shower. Personally, I showered yesterday. That's enough. - 10. Ricardo to Megan Woods I agree - housing has become a political football. How long is the public housing waitlist? 🤔 Fun fact: we also bumped into John Minto yesterday. 👋 - 11. Sosene to Webb Interesting -- anti-competitive land agreements. Watch the question online for more info. https://ondemand.parliament.nz/parliament-tv-on-demand/ - 12. Hawke's Bay cyclone recovery. $21.6 million of the allocated funding has been spent. $34 million total spend.

Following up on Question 10: the number of people on the wait list wasn't mentioned, but Morgan Godfrey says it was 24,000 people in 2021 in his op-ed on Stuff. Is there an updated number floating around? https://www.stuff.co.nz/opinion/132194066/morgan-godfery-human-right-to-housing-obscured-by-back-and-forth-about-density
