Recording it: well, Matrix Digital is still nearby.
A resonant acoustic would be good, but I doubt I could rent one for three 3-hour sessions.
I’m not planning to develop it as a recital; I plan to learn them one by one, and record them when I think the feel is ok.

Some of the Lilburn pieces are interesting, but I like the story behind how I got the copies of those pieces, and think it’s a good yarn to sell the album around.
A lunch meeting at Backbenchers. That’s where I got the scores. I said it was a good yarn: Matthew was offering to publish my pieces, and told me lots of tales from the 80s.
I wish I hadn’t given some of the scores to Megan Robson, as she’s not in NZ anymore.
This would also be a great excuse to record some jazz tunes with Glen. NZ jazz tunes… which.. I don’t know any myself. I could transcribe the Dunsandel song.

So that’s my goal for this year and next: 2 albums. And the book. Plus publishing my sheet music. That's plenty.
If you're wondering about the technique - I sometimes flatten my fingers like a jazz piano player to create my sound.
That's how I was playing the opening riff. The action isn't great on that guitar, but it's ok.
I have Mike's pieces too.. somewhere -- I've got pdfs of the Coral Coast Suite. -
There's a lot of really good NZ guitar music. It's probably more fashionable now in the global classical guitar scene than it was before Jane.
As I say, my fame is the result of the post-Covid bump that all New Zealanders are benefitting from.
