well, it's pretty thin, but if it's out there it's somewhere in Waikato. My Dad grew up in Taupiri, and the family in general was in Waikato, but my uncle was stumped by the Māori surname conventions when trying to figure that out. I think those family photos were mostly curiosities until my cousin had a Māori wife.

My Mum had a more sanguine view: she said that my Dad's family didn't talk about the intermarriages, and it was something of a family secret shame.
