Deciding which biscuit crumbs

Fall from their table scraps

into our laps.

Deciding which thumbs

Are supporting the pen

That signs the documents.

Sermonising speeches,

Dehumanised grief:

A parade of complacency.

That's just another Tuesday.

Maybe my good news day

is around the corner.

Giving aroha

Instead of violence.
