Is the fuel crisis Covid-esque?

Obviously, but it's a different situation. A pandemic means isolating people, but any productive industry is essential, so it has relatively little impact on industry. A fuel crisis means that plants can't produce items. In NZ, that's a minor risk, but we're especially vulnerable when it comes to transporting goods. That includes exporting goods. It'd be a shitshow within 3-6 months. People can't do things if we're in Great Depression economic conditions. - People can still do things, as long as they use public transport and electric appliances. Cars are still the easiest lever to pull. I pitched that we ban all cars for a day or two a week. As long as the economy turns over, we'll all survive. - Ultimately, like the lockdowns, it'll only last a couple of months (barring a major change).

I don't know. Arthur said that his lawyers reckon he might be abducted again, so he's probably lying low in the UK or Australia.

I'm in a slightly cynical mood. US ground troops are almost certainly going to be deployed. Trump was hoping to palm it off on France. Securing the Strait requires a ground deployment.
