Well, I sat through it. I'm very proud of it - I think it's the most sophisticated movie I've ever made. And I think it poses lots of great questions for the Election. I'm not done with the stunt, though: my next step is to email all the MP's who support the cause. Gary's identified a few, but others could put their hands up. 😀 - I realise I'm world-class, but that's not all that great a feeling. It's mostly me butting my head against the wall that NZ is so square.

But yeah, I see why Bruno stayed here. It's a lifestyle thing: in NZ, I could carry that doco, while in America it'd be someone pretty. 🤣 But as for the fiction series: after all that, it seems a bit trivial. Great for a book, but yeah, I'd rather use the juice from this to make a big movie.

as for 'impersonating black'

- I had the backing of the community. The cannabis culture digs me, and that means lots of Maori people throwing in their two cents. 👌 Plus I even discovered some family links.

- I have life experience, which is why the sound is 'authentic'.

- St. Louis Woman was written by a Southern White and a Jew. Much like I sang my Beach Song as a demo with a solid Asian voice, Arlen 'sounds' Black when he sings. It's musicals: the genre exists so people can try on different hats. 👩 For example - Carousel is one of the most Christian plays ever written .. by two Jews.

To be big-headed: if the Americans are interested in NZ musicals, it's because we're doing something new. Which, I reckon, means tipping the hat to Ant. He had the wisdom to put musicals in the 48Hours genres, which means film fans here have been exposed to loads of short ones. As for features... that's tricky - Ant made one, actually. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3705412/ - For the pollies... Re: Chloe's re-election chances - well, seeing as I apparently helped the first time around, it's nice that it all dovetails with the Dakumentary for round 2. I reckon it'll help Tamatha too.
