Q: What's really going on between you two?
A: Chlöe and I are friends. Got engaged in 2024, but it's largely symbolic until she retires.
-
Q: How long did it take?
A: The film began in 2022, and took two years to compile/shoot/finish.
I started doing my bit in 2018, which is when our Fresh Culture films are from.
-
Q: Was it really as easy as it seemed?
A: Regarding protesting, yes. Gary's a bit of a genius, and my performance art is a hit.
We all faced intense GCSB and SIS scrutiny, but no serious charges.
Unlike Patu! our video footage was never confiscated. They re-edited the finale.

Q: What's Dakta doing?
A: Retired. Got busted again in 2024.
-
Q: How legal is it in NZ?
A: People look the other way for personal use. That's what discretion means.
Now that medical cannabis is easily available, it's essentially legal to smoke up.
-
Q: Why aren't psychedelics discussed when you obviously take them?
A: It's a cannabis film. Russell Brown and others have done that topic.
-
Q: What is wairuakohu?
A: Something for another documentary. A native plant with cannabinoids and PET.
An Indigenous psychoactive with a chain of traditional use.
NZ wasn't supposed to have them; intersects with Tohunga Suppression Act.
What is PET? perrottetinene - that's the unique THC-like substance. People say it was like kava. I've also read it was a liver cure.
