You may have loved New York, but I didn't go. Don't really care what they think, and the last thing I want is for The Perfumed Garden to be more Broadway. I haven't asked for your notes, and I'm not a uni student. House Music says it all about the pretension of the microtonal scaffold that Salina and all the contemporary classical crowd wanted me to use. It sounds weird and strange, and not at all like music, while the current approach is listenable. That was Dave A's opinion of the sound of the score. - It's fitting: some random writer in some obscure city at the corner of the empire doodling a score based on a book written by some random writer in some obscure city at the corner of their empire. That's probably why it wasn't an American composer or a Brit. - Asked Don for notes, so if he's giving those in the back channels, then that's fine. Was keen to use that APRA scholarship, but the timing didn't work out.
