Yeah, that feels weird. I think the pun of Don (as in a mafia Don, like Dakta) is quite funny. But anyway, I just had a thought: perhaps the documentary should be like that Six by Sondheim documentary where it's heavy on the archival footage, alongside performances of those iconic songs by various well-known musicians. There's also the broader question of exploration of self via music videos, which is a really key part of Don's overall brand. So, that's something to explore in the interviews... - Personally, I feel that when documentaries try to be self-consciously 'cinematic', that usually spells death, including in several Errol Morris films that I've seen. Ake Ake Ake is a wee bit like that, but mostly it reminds me that people were really obsessed with drones in late-2010's Aotearoa. The layer of self-conscious irony in the Dakumentary is basically my response to being surveilled, and that's where I took ideas from Gary and all the various videos of the guys that I've seen over the years. But, nonetheless, the title sequence is totally holding a lot of space (to use the lingo).✊🏻
