No, stadium gigs cannot be the way forward. They're a way of pacifying the music. Simply put, amplification = diminished effect, with the exception of electric instruments. What Paul, George, John and Ringo did, they did in intimate rooms and EMI studios. The Anthology establishes that they thought their touring gigs were subpar. Beatles Invade New Zealand is intended to create an explosion of clubs and concerts. Concert halls of 1,500-2,000, not stadiums piping in music to 50,000. - Ozora is different. Haven't been there, but that's a festival rather than a gig. - I'm not interested in being Taylor Swift. I'm a perfectly good Amanda Michelina. My satire wouldn't fly in the world of mainstream pop or film. What I've loved about the Beatles is discovering that the counterculture revolutionaries of their day were quite a lot like me and my friends. I didn't really get the 1960's until I began to really get The Beatles. I don't need to get rich off my music. Paul buying my catalogue would be plenty.
I'd rather play mid-size gigs with Nashville people like Ringo. Or the Kiwi equivalent that I'm selling to Paul. NZ's obsession with exiling me is petty and pathetic. I'm a citizen by birth. My roots go deeper than most.
