I think that there's room to make Attack Of The Veggies as a stop motion cartoon, and possibly the Weapons of War one as well (combined with VFX for the laser beams). Dirty Creatures is going to cost a lot of money. I'm very much set on exploring mo-cap to do that particular short. Plus those new soundstages with motion tracked rear projection. I found out those were in NZ in 2020, and that might save some money. - I've never been to Tongariro, so that's why I added it to Merging with Gaia. - Maybe some kind of Westland story. I've never been there either. A murder mystery perhaps? Or something else that's evocative and slow. - Sultry by Anthony Ritchie. Maybe I could fold that into this project. I'm quite keen to film that in Central Otago at sunset, as the program note indicates. - Dawn at Parliament might be good too, plus some type of Rod Serling-style intro. That's cribbing from Jordan Peele, though tbh I only saw his first movie (Get Out). - Ultimately, the goal here is to do something for theatrical release. I'd like to sort that out for The Dakumentary as well, but that's going to cost a shitload. Like, as a fundraiser, it'd cost several thousand dollars to hire a venue. - In terms of the Wellington Stories, I'm not sure if we can produce a DCP of Some Kind Of Love, but I'm fairly confident that I could create one for These Words Are Meant For Someone. Stephen definitely could sort that out for all three films, as he made the DCP for Portrait of a Knight. I'm talking with Manny soon, so I'll bring up the storage of Some Kind of Love. The paint VFX weren't my idea... I think other people saw the Chloefilm and pressured me to add those VFX to These Words Are Meant For Someone. It works well both ways, but I'm going to stick with the 'real' version for the Dakumentary. Foreign distribution seemed like a pipe dream, but I think that the paperwork for Portrait Of A Knight is probably all in order. I'm not sure if we wrote down the points, but the contracts definitely included profit participation for the cast and crew. We'd probably have to sign contracts with Barbara and Lauren for These Words Are Meant For Someone. And Julia and Scott for Some Kind Of Love. Maybe we can sell the trilogy to a streaming service? 🤷🏻‍♂️
