3/10. Despite name-brand movie actors, some nice photography and good music, this film was practically stillborn. The plot wasn't exactly thick, and the flashbacks didn't really help to 'open out' the movie, which was an adaptation of a novel. The entire film felt like a contrivance. On the positive side: very nice use of Pavane for a Dead Princess by Ravel. PS: the film wasn't on Letterboxd.
