Given the 20% or so who don't vote are more likely to swing an election than the middle of Aotearoa, why is it that there aren't tons of articles about that? I'd hazard a guess that plenty of them are in similar accommodation to me, and during my political career, I've met a few. I used to chat to the bums and hobos when I was a guy. Wellington and Auckland seem fairly aware of the low turnouts, and the local body elections last year were noticeably getting out the vote by improving accessibility. - Re: the cannabis referendum, it was totally a factor. It wasn't just on Paddy's show, lots of people from the culture told me they don't vote (yes, even with the referendum). 🤣 - The article about boarding houses by Stuff was really good. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/132095216/boarding-houses-a-problem-weve-always-needed-to-fix I checked -- couldn't see any sprinklers in my building. My room is bigger than some of the other ones; it's like two shoeboxes (rather than one). As for 'worse than jail' ... maybe? I've never been to jail. - I'm dreading three more months of Parliament. The electioneering... 🥝 It'd be nice to get a shot of Gary and I in the Public Gallery eyeballing the PM. I've seen media people around taking photos, so I guess if I ask we might be able to .. that AM segment with Ryan Bridge was very clever.
