I was in a specialist music programme at high school, but still went to school. Most of my friends used music gigs or rehearsals as an excuse to bunk class, but I didn't. Wouldn't say that high school or uni was a breeze, but the lowest grade I got was a B-, mostly A- average. Jane said not to put the effort in to get an A unless it was necessary. - Studied film as well as music, but I was majoring in composition with guitar as a second study instrument, which eventually swallowed up my course load. My brother fell just short of getting a minor in music (but got a film degree). He actually got an exemption to have the minor awarded as he was only 3 points short or something, but then the NZSM administration forgot to do it.

My final year of high school (Year 13 .. the Aussies would call it Year 12) had a very enlightened view, which was that as long as we came to 85% of the classes then we could bunk.
