I really want to delve into the archives; that's something that I could do in the office that would be more fruitful than my writing stories or my paranoia. Listening to Savage is quite interesting: there's definitely disctinct elements of what we'd think of as a Kiwi accent, but there's also those Irish flavours (which I'm guessing is what prompted people to say he sounded American). The one thing it really doesn't sound like is an Aussie accent. 🤣 - I'd love to delve into TVNZ's archives too. Those Looking Back programs that Parliament TV has made are cool, but I still feel like I barely know anything about the 1990's.
