I don't have IMDB Pro, so I have no idea how to get in touch. Re: Sondheim, I was lucky that a search brought up his real lawyer, and that's how it got to him. Like, I've made some movies, but I don't have an agent and I haven't left Aotearoa since 2013, which was a brief trip to Australia for a wedding. So yeah... people say that most celebrities use fake names and stuff when they get in touch with Kiwis, so I'm not that surprised that people are interested in my stuff. - Obviously the Kiwi pros have made a few references to my movies, so that suggests that they're in the discourse. I've had ideas for movie screenings, including international ones, but I'm very much a fan rather than a distributor.

No, that was 2024 at the wānanga. Now I'm pretty much done. It's blindingly obvious that my level 2 certificate is better than a VUW level 4 one. To be fair, that was my main thing for the year, and

Speaking locally, I have friends that know Bret and Jemaine and Taika, but personally I've seen those dudes at movie screenings. Stephen went to a Q&A that Taika gave. Plus Dean Hewison is a local filmmaker that I admired when I was young. But yeah, I've never had a gig on an American set -- loneliness of directing and composing. Like, a lot of well-known people have met me at some stage or other, but I'm not that much for celebrity collecting, particularly given that my films mostly used unknowns.

As for my decision to write a book rather than make a movie: that was my call, and partly because my literary friends look down on me. Plus I'm finding writing prose is freeing. I hate the snobbiness of Wellington, particularly given that films and video games are actually a significant part of the GDP. - It's not my job to 'be an icon' on-screen. I choose not to act, and I've always felt that the constant photographing of trans people reinforces unhealthy ideals.
