The art is not the artist

That's my general viewpoint, and I think that my career reflects my belief that creative work isn't necessarily reflective of one's true personality. That's why I'm thinking of publishing my music as Amanda Michelina: I feel like there's a mind-state that I try to cultivate when I compose, and that's a type of persona, though it's really supposed to be an extension of my own feelings and emotions. I think as a queer artist there's much more tendency to forgive people for their beliefs as opposed to regular fans, who tend to be more all-or-nothing imo. However, obviously my short story is a reflection on the changing nature of the Whedonverse fandom, and how odd that whole cult is. I think that cult has thoroughly survived the fall of Joss: there's still plenty of Angel and Buffy comics and merchandise that are being sold in 2024. I tried to read the comics; they weren't all that great. Whedon's Astonishing X-Men is much better than any Whedonverse comic that I've ever read. - The idea comes from something I overheard as a student. My friend Peter (Walter) told me that the guy who plays Tilk in Stargate SG-1 was famous for ploughing fans, or something along those lines. So, yeah, I'd heard that or read it in fan forums about various people. The erotic fanfic is my touch of fantasy: a device that brings the story to life by enacting those personae. As for whether it could be done with a Kiwi actor; possibly, but the idea was someone like Harrison Ford or Alexis Denisof, which is where the whole fake British accent idea came from. I think that gruff he-man tone of voice would be really effective.
