I think the Greens are becoming the party of the unions. Labour certainly hasn't won over the teachers or the nurses, while I think the Greens are more in-touch with those causes. Inertia is such a powerful factor in politics, though, and I think that's always working against the Green Party. Inertia is why Winston and NZ First have 2-3% in the polls. - I mean, yes, Labour too is a global movement (technically 🐸), but it's more overt with the Greens. Ms. Swarbrick's rating remains fairly consistent as preferred PM (2%). That's a sign of her celebrity status. - I reckon inertia is helping the National Party, given how low Mr. Luxon's preferred PM rating is (compared to Mr. Hipkins). 🤣 I don't foresee a Jacindamania-type movement helping the Labour Party, but I think it's more or less impossible to predict the result before the Election is over. Polls tend to create reality, rather than reflecting it. That's a downside of our media culture. - Btws, I predict Te Pāti Māori will win 2 seats, and possibly 3. They're genuinely competitive in the Māori electorates. šŸ‘ - I wonder who Paddy votes for... I'm pretty sure he smokes weed recreationally, but I note that he didn't foreground that like he did his alcoholism for 'On Booze'. I'm a fan, despite my harsh review of his new show. šŸ‘‹ I reckon they'll nail it within a few months or so. šŸ‘
