rules

Writer: Amanda RiddellAmanda Riddell

There are very specific rules for screenwriting in other countries that we should also practice in Aotearoa. Here's an example, using my paranoia as a springboard: It's irrelevant whether Dave's Armstrong's rewrite is good or not. It shouldn't exist. I wasn't paid for the use of my IP.

That's the legal truth. That, VUW, is another nail in the coffin.

In fact, any substantive evidence of that draft existing would result in me suing you and winning handily. That would cost you much more than $50,000.

The only remaining option is for VUW and the Film Commission to immediately and completely cease re: Tina.

This is honestly like if they broke protocol on the marae. There are very specific rules around screenplays. One of which is that licencing fees are mandatory.

Here's the thing... if I go to my WriterDuet file and render my current draft, it'll be essentially the same, if not exactly the same, as the script that I published.

Any changes would be things that I would recognise. Otherwise, VUW broke the law. - Bluntly, it's obvious that the Film Commission (finally) wants to be in the Amanda Michelina business, so it's in my self-interest to produce films that are likely to sustain a long career as a writer/director. Unfortunately, the Tina script is unlikely to accomplish that goal because I would then be tagged as 'that trannie actor', as opposed to the Dakumentary, where I established in my title sequence that I was the creator/director. I'm very much prepared to discuss a development grant for Shipwrecked or an opportunity to produce the practical films from the collection of fables. Bear in mind that Taika wasn't in Two Cars, One Night or Eagle vs. Shark, even though he was mostly known as an actor when he was making those.
