My grand plan for the economy

Well, it's very much like my plan for the film sector. Essentially, we do what the Government did in WWII: issue bonds and force people to buy those. This isn't a million miles away from the social investment that National has often suggested as a solution to economic issues. I reckon there's a lot of money that slips out of NZ and into offshore bank accounts, so this would be a way of forcing people to invest in NZ Inc.

I think that we should have a self-sustaining internal economy as well as exporting goods. I think that's mentioned in the manifesto.
